The Abington Area Community Park’s 100 acre landscape includes sublime vistas and recreational facilities for people with all abilities making it the Abington Centerpiece. The AAJRB strives to make the park as universally accessible and inclusive as possible for all to enjoy..  There are certain HC accessible amenities existing at the park now such as: fishing docks, Restrooms, Boundless Playground and picnic tables at the Pavilion.  The Park's 2011 General Fundraising Goal is to make a network of Handicapped-Accessible paved pathways and parking spaces, so that those using wheelchairs or who have mobility impairments will be afforded points of access to the facilities and the lakeside trail.

Keith Williams is a lifelong wheelchair user who lives in Clarks Green and is the Community Organizer for the Northeast Pa Center for Independent Living. “The park will open new opportunities for area residents with disabilities,” he said. “It will enable us to enjoy the outdoors and socialize with our non-disabled family and friends.
